| Our
program integrates academic excellence with Christian
principles, a love for God, a knowledge of His saving
power, a sense of self-worth, a respect for others, and a
strong sense of African-American heritage. All of our
students are educated with Love in a disciplined,
yet creative, environment. GMCAC is a unique institution
of learning. Through a well-equipped environment, we
prepare every child to meet lifes challenges and to
pursue his or her personal aspirations. Students are
educated to know whose they are in the Lord, and who they
are as a people, thereby creating opportunities for a
successful life. The Bible clearly gives us principles
which underlie Christian education. Although the Bible
does not mention the Christian school, it says much about
the education of young people. In the Old Testament, we are commanded to teach Gods Word diligently unto our children (Deuteronomy 6:7). In the New Testament, we are commanded to bring them up in the nature and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Our Academy is a member of, and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, which is recognized and approved by the State of Georgia. We are also a member of, and accredited by the National Institute of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Greenforest/McCalep Christian Academic Center, a ministry of Greenforest Community Baptist Church since 1989, admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, to all rights, privilege, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Center. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school administered programs. However, we are not presently equipped to meet the needs of children who are mentally or emotionally impaired, or those with severe learning disabilities. Our purpose is to provide a quality education by training and nurturing young people in both our Early Learning Center (ages 6 weeks - 4 years) and our Academy Program (grades K-12th). The spiritual growth of children is strengthened by daily Bible classes, devotion time, weekly chapel, and the shared experience of other students. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students academically, spiritually, and culturally. We have a strong appreciation of our African American history, and it is infused into all subjects. Good discipline is accomplished through positive reinforcement, recognition programs, and consistent disciplinary measures. Students are taught and expected to respect each other and those in authority. The clear teaching of the Bible is the foundation for developing excellent moral character. At GMCAC, the Bible is the most important subject. We understand that students' academic accomplishments and future successes begin with the Word of God. A child who has the power of God operating within expresses love, self-control, and discipline. These
essential character-building elements are needed for the
student to mature and prosper. As these lessons flow from
the hearts of teachers to the hearts of students, a firm
foundation for life is made, and preparations for the
acceptance of God's will is formed.

Our faculty and staff make this
Center a special place. They are experienced,
professionally-trained individuals who bring with them
varied backgrounds which translate into enriching
experiences for our students. They are committed to the
concepts of educating our children, "Gods
way." Through careful planning and
preparation, they convey a high level of academic
knowledge that is undergirded with a biblical foundation
and a teaching of Christian values. ![]()
![]() We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:15; II Pet.1:21). We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1; Mat 28:19; John 10:30) We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isa 7:14; Mat 1:34; Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Heb 4:15;7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinth 15:3; Eph 1:7; Heb 2:9); His resurrection (Jn 11:25; I Corinth 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mk 16:19); His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Rev 19:11). We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God's grace and through faith are we saved (John 3:16-19; 5:24; Rom 3:23; 5:8-9; Eph 2:8-10). We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29). We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 8:9,1, I Corinth 12:12-13). We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Rom 8:13-14; I Corinth 3:16; 6:19-20; Eph 4:30). |
